Middle School

PRA's middle school is a nationally recognized tuition-free public school.

  • 62% of PRA secondary instructional staff have post-graduate degrees of which 19% of them have doctorate degrees.

  • Every student is known by name, strength, and need.

  • There are over 23 electives from which to choose by student's interest

  • In middle school students can play competitive cross country, cheer, baseball, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, golf, and track and field.

The middle school serves as a transition between elementary school and high school. Students continue the rigorous Core Knowledge-based curriculum. Prospect Ridge Academy Middle School also offers a number of choice electives, all focused on its college preparatory mission and its goal of creating academic, social, and ethical leaders.

Community Service

All MS students are required to complete eight hours of community service per school year. Students can count any service hours they completed during summer break towards the upcoming school year (example: any hours completed during summer 2023 will count towards their total for the 2023-2024 school year.) Please refer to the Community Service | Prospect Ridge Academy webpage for additional information and to find the online form to submit completed service hours. PRA often has volunteer hours available for our MS students that can be found on the Volunteering at PRA | Prospect Ridge Academy page. Just scroll down and click on the “Current Volunteer Opportunities” button. Look for sign-up slots that indicate “Middle School."

Class Schedules

All fifth through eleventh grade students will select course for the following school year during the spring semester prior. Enrollment staff will provide new to PRA students with course selection details shortly after their enrollment is complete.

Class schedules are generally released within Infinite Campus in early/mid August. Students may view these within their Infinite Campus portal accounts.

Academics

PRA Middle School follows the rigorous Core Knowledge-based curriculum. The Middle School also offers a number of choice electives, all focused on its college preparatory mission and its goal of creating academic, social, and ethical leaders such as world language, choir, band, orchestra, yearbook, art, and engineering.

Access

Middle School Access is utilized for, character education, assemblies & guest speakers, information on upcoming events, updates from Student Council, and meeting time for student committees. In addition, this time is an opportunity for students to access additional resources they may need.

Extracurriculars / Athletics

PRA Middle School has a robust extracurricular offering including but not limited to Battle of the Books, Brain Bowl, Choir - 0 Hour, First Lego League, Math Counts, Musical, National Art Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society , Science Olympiad, Spelling Bee, and Student Council.

Athletics is part of our mission as a school. PRA offers a number of team and individual sports including Cross Country, Track, Football, Golf, Soccer, Tennis, Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Volleyball and Cheer. PRA middle school teams are competitively successful.
